Getting your bathroom ready for tilling

Tilling a bathroom is often the best choice as it offers protection from the wet environment and also is very easy to clean. Often tilling is one of the things that can make a huge difference to a bathroom. Old, discoloured or mouldy tiles can very quickly age a bathroom.

If your bathroom doesn’t have tiles then you may want to consider adding some. Not only can you add colour, texture and patterns to your bathroom using titles but it also makes it very easy to clean as they are easy just to wipe over every few days.

When getting ready to install tiles in your bathroom, preparation is key. Firstly you need to estimate the number of tiles you think you will be needing. Take a measurement of the height and width of the wall to be tiled and multiply these together. This will give you the area and from this you can work out how many packs of tiles you are likely to need. Always get an extra pack in case you break some. You can also usually return them if they have not been used.

It is very important to check that the wall is straight before you start to tile it, especially if you are using large tiles as otherwise they will not sit flat and will not hold properly to the wall. Make sure you invest in good quality grout that is mould resistant.
